• Luke 21:32-22:37
  • Luke 21:32 – This shows conclusively that the preceding prophecy had a fulfillment coming in the near term, that is, the prophecy was about the coming destruction at the hand of the Romans – not the second coming of Christ.
  • Luke 21:33 – The Jews understood there to be three heavens: the sky where the birds fly, the heavens where the stars and planets are, and the eternal abode of God.
  • Luke 22:17-20 – In verses 17-18, Jesus is eating the Passover with the disciples. Then in verses 19-20, Jesus institutes the Lord’s Supper. The bread and the cup are memorials of Jesus – they do not represent Him.
