- II Corinthians 4:14-5:10
- II Corinthians 4:18 – Everything that can be seen is temporary and will be destroyed. We are to focus our attention on things that are eternal.
- II Corinthians 5:1 – We are not told exactly what will happen between our earthly death and the resurrection. The parable Jesus tells of Lazarus and the rich man (Luke 16:19-31) implies that there will be some state of peaceful existence after death for those who obey God.
- II Corinthians 5:5 – The “we” in this passage seems to specifically refer to Paul and the apostles. The principles in most of this chapter apply to all Christians, though.
