  • “Awesome” is a word that is very overused today.
  • Psalms 119:161
  • In the Old Testament, people stood in awe of God.
  • God’s creation: amazing
    • We can see the beauty of God’s creation all around us. God created the world for man and turned it over to him.
  • God’s love: unconditional
    • God sent His own Son to earth to suffer and die for us (John 3:16. He wants us to have eternal life and gave us rules to follow to take advangage of this.
  • God’s salvation: available
    • Salvation is available to all (Ephesians 2:8-9 but it is conditional upon our faith and obedience.
    • Acts 17:30 - Repentance is required.
    • II Peter 3:9 - God does not want any to perish, but to repent.
    • Acts 2:38
  • God’s mercy: comforting
    • Hebrews 4:16 - God’s mercy comforts us when we repent of our sins.
  • God’s word: powerful
    • John 1:1
    • John 12:48 - God’s word will judge us in the last day.
