  • Lesson 7: Worship
    • Exodus 34:14; Deuteronomy 8:19; Hebrews 12:28-29 – God is jealous for our worship. There is such a thing as unacceptable worship.

    • John 4:23-24 – We must worship in spirit and truth.
    • James 2:1-10 – We are not to show partiality in our dealings with people.

    • Ephesians 1:1; 5:17-20 – We are singing to each other as well as to God. We are to submit to each other in an effort to get along and serve God in harmony.

    • II Corinthians 9:6-7 – It is a cheerful thing to give to the Lord!

  • There is one baptism that is in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Is baptism, believing that sprinkling water on a person, in Jesus’ name? Romans 6:4; Acts 8:38-39

  • Is baptism, believing one is already saved, in Jesus’ name? Acts 2:38; 22:16; I Peter 3:21; Mark 16:16
  • Is baptism, believing Jesus died a spiritual death, in Jesus’ name?
    • Jesus did not die a spiritual death.
      • Baptism is into the benefit of Jesus’ physical death. Romans 6:3-4
      • He purchased the church with His blood, not His Spirit. Acts 20:28
      • The saved are redeemed by the sacrifice of His blood, not the sacrifice of His Spirit. Ephesians 1:7; I Peter 1:18-19
      • The Lord’s Supper is a memorial of His physical death, not a spiritual death. I Corinthians 11:24-25; Matthew 26:26-28
      • Jesus entered the Holy Place once with His own blood, not His Spirit to obtain eternal redemption for us.
    • You were not forgiven nor were you added to the body of Christ if:
      • You were sprinkled calling it baptism. Wrong mode.
      • You were baptized believing you were already saved. Wrong purpose.
      • You were baptized believing Jesus died a spiritual death. Wrong sacrifice.
    • There is one baptism: Baptism believing that Jesus’ physical death is the sacrifice for forgiveness of sins is the one baptism.
