  • I Corinthians 4:17 – It’s possible that Paul baptized Timothy when he passed through Derbe.
  • I Corinthians 4:20 – See Hebrews 12:28. No one can assail the kingdom of God.
  • I Corinthians 5:5 – The primary reason for withdrawing from the sinner was to attempt to save him. Additional reasons are given in I Corinthians 5:8 (keeping the church pure) and I Corinthians 5:11 (so that sinners will fear discipline).
  • I Corinthians 5:8 – Just as the Jews could not have any leaven in their houses with God’s approval during the Passover week, so we cannot have any malice or wickedness in us with God’s approval.
