Luke 19:1-10 - Jesus and Zaccheus

  • Luke 19:7 - There may have been both some jealousy (because of Zaccheus’ wealth) and judgmentalism on the part of these people. We must be very careful to not old these same attitudes ourselves.

Luke 19:11-27 - Parable of the ten minas

  • Luke 19:11 - Jesus told this parable because some thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately.
  • Luke 19:12 - See Ephesians 2:11-14. Could this be a reference to the Jews as the old kingdom?

Luke 19:28-40 - The triumphal entry

  • Luke 19:30 - This fulfilled a prophecy. In Matthew’s account (Matthew 21:1-11), it is specified that this colt is the foal of a donkey, quoting from Zechariah 9:9.

Luke 19:41-44 - Jesus weeps over Jerusalem

  • Jesus prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem.

Luke 19:45-48 - Jesus cleanses the temple
