- James 2:1-26
- James 2:1 – The faith here includes the fact that God loved the world so much that Christ died for it. Acts 10:34-35; Romans 2:11; I Timothy 5:21; James 3:17
- James 2:2-4 – We have a natural tendency to show partiality toward the wealthy and well-dressed. We must constantly guard against this! See Leviticus 19:15.
- James 2:5 – God chose the poor to be rich in faith, so why should we discriminate against them? Matthew 5; Luke 16:19-22
- James 2:8-9 – Compare Matthew 22:36-40. Partiality is sin.
- James 2:10-11 – Sin is sin. James compares adultery and murder.
- James 2:14 – Until you embrace your faith and put it into action, it’s not real faith!
- James 2:26 – If faith without works is dead, faith alone cannot save you. Faith naturally results in good works.
