  • Tough love
    • Matthew 23:37, 13-15 – Jesus told people what they needed to hear.
    • Acts 9:3-9, 15-16; 22:16 – Jesus showed tough love for Saul by blinding and scaring him.
    • We should not soften the word of God when we read it or teach it to others. Jesus did not do that and we shouldn’t either!

  • Unpopular love
    • Luke 7:36-50 – Jesus loved lowly people, even when it made Him unpopular.

  • Patient love
    • Matthew 14:30; 16:21-23 – Jesus loved Peter with patience.

    • Jesus loves us with a love that never gives up.
  • Sacrificial love
    • John 1:29; 10:11; 15:13
    • John 19:1-3, 16-18, 28 – Jesus loved us so much that He sacrificed Himself for us.
  • Personal love
    • Galatians 2:20 – Jesus gave Himself up for me.
