- I Corinthians 5:8-13
- I Corinthians 5:10-11 – It is not possible to live in the world and avoid social contact with all immoral people. We are to avoid social contact and spiritual fellowship with immoral people who call themselves brethren.
- I Corinthians 5:12 – We are to judge those who are within the church by withholding spiritual fellowship and social contact from those who are walking in sin. It is not saying we cannot rebuke those who do not claim to be Christians when they sin. This passage is specifically speaking to the problem of a member of the congregation living in immorality. This passage does not address how members of other congregations should be treated if they are living in sin.
