- Matthew 21:23-27 – Jesus’ authority is questioned.
- Matthew 21:28-32 – the parable of the two sons
- The bottom line is whether we obey God’s message
- It doesn’t matter if we say we obey God or have good intentions of doing so. We have to actually obey God’s word!
- Hebrews 5:7-9 – We become next in a line of obedient people after Jesus.
- Matthew 7:15-20 – A person’s actions (fruits) reveal their heart.
- Judges 3:3-4 – These nations were left to test the obedience of Israel.
- Deuteronomy 8:2
- Deuteronomy 13:1-4 – God allows pressure to be put on His people to test their obedience.
- In conversion
- When we sin
- We don’t always follow God’s commands. We have to make a decision about how to respond. Do we quit or do we repent and turn back to God?
- When convicted by the word
- Do we obey or not?
- Today and tomorrow
- It doesn’t matter if we say we obey God or have good intentions of doing so. We have to actually obey God’s word!
