  • Hebrews 11:39 – These faithful people did not receive approval from men but from God. They died looking forward to the promise of the coming of Christ.
  • Hebrews 12:1 – The great cloud of witnesses is the many faithful people mentioned in Hebrews 11. See also I Corinthians 9:25-27.
  • Hebrews 12:2 – Jesus is the beginner and “ender” of our faith. It is difficult for us to even imagine the physical, mental, and emotional pain Jesus endured on the cross.
