  • Godly peace is a peace that comes from having a God-ward attitude.
  • Do not be overly anxious. Philippians 4:6
    • Matthew 6:25-34 – God provides for His people. If we have the right priorities, other things will take care of themselves. Take one day at a time.
    • Matthew 6:11 – Note that Jesus prays for the bread for today.
  • Prayer is necessary in order to enjoy godly peace. Philippians 4:6
    • I Peter 5:6-7 – Prayer is a way of casting our anxieties on God.

  • We must learn to be content. Philippians 4:10-12

    • Luke 3:14 – We must be content and live within our means.

  • We must trust in God. Philippians 4:13
    • We must truly surrender our will to God.

      • There are times when we need to back up and cover the fundamentals.
        • Acts 6:10-7:2ff – Steven backed up to establish common ground with his audience.
      • The Bible is truth.

        • If we are going to answer people effectively, we have to know what the Bible says and where it says it.
        • II Timothy 2:15
        • We must answer with the scriptures!
      • Matthew 25:29 – If we keep working, we will get better.
      • Galatians 6:9 – Don’t grow weary. This is important work!
