  • Introduction
    • Judges 13:5 – Samson was a Nazirite, so he did not cut his hair.
    • Some things Samson did were by God’s design. Judges 14:1-4
    • God can use people who are sinners to do His will.
  • “Love” is blind
    • Judges 16:4-21 – Samson loved Delilah, but she did not seem to love him back.
    • Judges 14:17-18 – It was not the first time Samson was overcome by a woman.
    • I may marry someone who hurts me spiritually.
      • Boys, it’s a problem if you become more interested in girls than in God.
      • Girls, it’s a problem if you become more interested in boys than in God.
    • The strength came from God, not his hair.
      • Judges 13:24-25 – The Spirit of the Lord was upon Samson.

      • Judges 13:3-5 – God told Samson’s mother the conditions upon which God would bless him.

      • I Peter 3:21 – The power of God saves us – the power is not in the water.

      • Samson had to have long hair to receive the blessing of strength.
      • We must be baptized to receive the blessing of forgiveness.

  • Luke 20:9-40
  • Luke 20:9-18 – Parable of the vine-growers
    • Jesus shows that the master owns the vineyard and by parallel God owns us, the church, and everything around us. God is coming to collect what is due.
  • Luke 20:19-26 – The Pharisees realize Jesus was speaking against them and they start trying to catch Him in an error. People may do this to us today and try to catch us in errors. See Titus 2:7-8; I Peter 2:15; 3:16.
  • Luke 20:27-40 – The Sadducees try to trap Jesus in a question about the resurrection.

    • Luke 20:37 – See Exodus 3:6.
