  • Acts 13:1-14:7

  • Acts 13:14-41 – Paul’s sermon in Antioch of Pisidia

    • Acts 13:17-25 – Israel’s history leading to Christ

    • Acts 13:26-37 – Jesus is the one we’ve been waiting for!

    • Acts 13:38-41 – Believe and take heed!

  • Acts 13:42-52 – The Jews were happy when it was primarily the Jews hearing the gospel, but became jealous when the Gentiles were involved.

    • Romans 11:1 – It was still an advantage to be a Jew, but the gospel is for all.
  • Acts 13:48 – This verse is not saying, “They believed because they had been appointed to eternal life.” Those who refused the gospel judged themselves unworthy (Acts 13:46). Accepting the gospel appoints you to eternal life!

  • Acts 14:1-7 – Apparently the same thing that happened in Antioch of Pisidia happened again at Iconium. Paul and Barnabas did not move on until their lives were at risk.

  • Luke 13:22-14:24
  • Luke 13:26 – Compare Matthew 7:22-23.
  • Luke 13:30 – Some who think they are right with God but were prideful and looked to themselves rather than God will be cast out. Those that are last are those that are poor in spirit (Matthew 5:3) and will be blessed by God.
  • Luke 13:35 – This could be referring to a future time when every knee will bow, and the people will finally accept Jesus’ message.
  • Luke 14:12-14 – It’s okay to swap dinners with friends, but don’t do it to the exclusion of caring for the lame and the blind.
  • Luke 14:16-24 – All those who were invited gave excuses, and all were bad. We must be careful not to make excuses to God. He will surely see right through them.

    • Colossians 3:16 – Singing is a good way for kids to be involved in worship.
  • Giving

    • I Corinthians 16:1-2

    • Kids can be involved in giving also, either with their parents’ money of their own money.

  • Lord’s Supper

    • I Corinthians 11:23-26

    • Exodus 12:24-27; 13:14; Joshua 4:6-7, 21 – Memorials are a good way to get kids to ask questions. That’s part of the reason God set them up!

  • Make sure the focus is on God, not self or kids.
