  • Galatians 5:26-6:18
  • Galatians 6:1-10- Each verse speaks about individuals doing spiritual good to others. There is no mention of benevolence in this context.
  • Galatians 6:17- Paul could be asking people to stop bothering him about the circumcision question because he bore the marks of having stood up for Christ already. It was senseless to accuse Paul of false teaching on circumcision and advocating a return to the old law because he was already suffering for teaching the new law.

    • The reason God wants us to look at the children is for what it reveals about the man himself. I Timothy 3:2
    • Opposite example: What about a bad dad whose kids leave hom and then turn good?

    • We’re not interested in the kids per se. We’re interested in what we learn about the man from looking at the kids.

  • Galatians 5:19-25
  • Galatians 5:21. The prohibition against drunkenness includes social drinking. Taking wine or alcohol for medicinal purposes is not the same as drunkenness.
  • Galatians 5:22-23- The fruit of the spiritual mind is not works of the flesh.
  • Galatians 5:23- Self-control is abstinence in things that are wrong and moderation in things that are right.
  • Galatians 5:24- If we are crucified with Christ, the spiritual mind has won the battle.
