    • The approval of the Lord

      • Proverbs 15:9, 29; 18:10; 21:3

      • Proverbs 10:24-25, 28, 30; 11:4-5, 18-19, 21, 23; 14:32

      • Wickedness brings punishment, but righteousness brings great reward (in eternity if not in this world).

  • Money

    • Money is not moral or immoral on its own. It is our attitudes and actions with and about money that matter.

    • I Timothy 6:10, 17-19

    • Warnings about money

      • Don’t put your trust in money.

        • Proverbs 11:28; 23:4-5

        • Think of yourself as a steward of your money, rather than an owner.

        • Ecclesiastes 5:10-15

        • Luke 12:33

      • Beware of how money can change relationships.

  • Many people are skeptical of their ability to live righteously enough to be saved.

  • Our salvation does not depend on living sinlessly!

  • The greatest command is to love God. What is the greatest sin? Not loving God.

  • Our salvation does not depend on being 100% doctrinally correct.

    • We are constantly striving to improve our understanding and knowledge.
  • Romans 7:24-25

    • Our assurance is based on what Jesus has provided for us.

      • II Corinthians 13:4

  • Ephesians 6:10-12

  • II Corinthians 10:3-5

  • Ephesians 1:3

  • Satan is trying to capture …

    • The world

      • Since sin entered the world, there has always been strife, wars, and disasters.
    • The church

      • Satan wants to attack the people of God. He does this in part by doctrinal error.

      • Satan turns Christians against each other by sowing dissension and bitterness. It only takes one with a sour disposition to tear up a church!

    • The home

      • We live lives of busyness. Satan can overwhelm us with busyness and crowd out the things of God.

      • Immorality or infidelity can ruin our relationship with God. I Corinthians 5:9-10

    • Us

      • Satan may use our own fears and doubts against us.
  • How can we win?

    • Ephesians 3:14-19

    • Be strengthened, mighty in the inner man.

    • Know the immeasurable love of God.

    • Be filled with God’s fullness.

    • Allow God to use us to do exceedingly abundantly above all we think or ask.

  • Psalm 34
  • Saul pursued David, in part because of jealousy. As we get older, we must be careful to not be jealous of the younger ones coming along behind us.
  • Psalms 34:3 – We should rejoice in serving God together!
  • Psalms 34:5 – Compare Psalms 56:1; Isaiah 60:5
  • Psalms 34:8 – See Mark 9:1. “Taste” here means to experience the Lord. When we see a newborn baby, a sunset, or any of the wonderful things He has created, we experience the Lord.
  • Psalms 34:9 – Those who fear God shall not be left wanting.
  • Psalms 34:12-14 – How do you do well before God? Watch your speech, depart from evil, and do good. Pursue peace.
