  • Giving

    • Matthew 14:14-21; John 6:1-14 – We may only have a little, but with Jesus, it can go far. They boy was willing to give his loaves and fish.

    • Luke 19:1-10 – Zacchaeus was willing to give half his goods to the poor and restore his wrongs four-fold.

    • Philippians 4:14-16 – Churches are authorized to send support to preachers that need it.

    • James 1:27 – Sometimes giving involves more than just money.

    • Matthew 25:31-46 – Jesus defines giving as much more than just money. Most of the time, giving is not money. We are to serve each other.

    • Acts 9:36-43 – Dorcas gave much through her services. She used her skills to help others.

  • Light

    • I John 1:5-10 – God is light. There is no shadow in Him. We must have fellowship with Him.

  • When is a person drunk?
    • A study showed that 0.05% alcohol in the blood doubles the changes of an accident.

  • Introduction

    • Acts 4:13 – John was a regular man, but he had been with Jesus.

  • John is an example of how evidence leads to faith.

    • John was present for many miraculous and important events with Jesus, including His transfiguration, crucifixion, the empty tomb, and seeing Jesus after His resurrection.

      • Mark 5:37-42; 9:2-4, 7-8; 14:32-35; John 13:23; 18:15-16; 19:26-27; 20:1-9, 19-23; 21:12-14
    • John 19:35; 20:30-31; 21:24-25 – John knew this was true!

    • Acts 4:19-20 – John could not stop speaking about what he’d seen.

    • I John 1:1-4 – John was convinced. Then he became a convincer.

  • John matured over time, and so should we.

    • We should continue to improve our behavior over time.

  • Righteousness, continued:

    • The approval of the Lord

    • God is trying to help us by instructing us in righteous living. He knows how we work and how we should live to have the best life.

    • What does the future hold?

      • Wickedness brings punishment, but righteousness brings great reward (in eternity if not in this world).

  • Money

    • Money is not moral or immoral on its own. It is our attitudes and actions with and about money that matter.
