  • Matthew 9:35
  • Jesus often talked to small groups of people or to individuals directly. There was no booming voice from heaven to teach everyone at once!
  • Acts 1:8 – One trip, one sermon at a time!
  • I Kings 12:16, 26-29 – Many small steps in the wrong direction leads to catastrophe.
    • II Kings 17:7-12, 16-17 – Israel was taken into captivity because this sin continued.

    • Humanity has always had a choice!

    • Sometimes we go too far in self-condemnation to believe we can ever return to God.

    • God will forgive any sin.

    • II Chronicles 33:9 – Manasseh humbled himself and returned to God.

    • Luke 22:33-34, 61-62, 31; Acts 2, 10 – Peter returned to God and taught many. He never stopped trying to do good.

    • We don’t have to work off our sins (and we couldn’t anyway) – God forgives them! It’s not a repayment system.
