- Salvation!
- The story of the Old Testament
- Ecclesiastes 7:29 - The fall of man.
- I John 3:4 - definition of sin
- Isaiah 59:2 - Sin separates us from God
- Romans 5:12 - All have sinned.
- Ezekiel 18:20 - Everyone bears the consequences of their own sin.
- Within the first few chapters of the Bible, we have been introduced to the problem: sin.
- God makes three promises to Abraham (Genesis 12:
- Nation and land: fulfilled in Old Testament
- Universal blessing: fulfilled in New Testament
- Genesis 50 - Israel grows as a nation in slavery to Egypt, and is then delivered from slavery by God.
- Leadership transfers from Moses to Joshua and then a series of judges.
- Israel requests a king and God gives them Saul.
- After Solomon, Israel splits into Israel and Judah.
- II Kings 17:5.
- Judah has a few good kings, but eventually goes into Babylonian captivity in 586 B.C.

- It is important to follow God’s law!
- God shows us the need that mankind had for a system of salvation. The stage is set for the fulfillment of the third promise.
