    • Matthew 22:35-40
    • Romans 13:8
    • James 1:27
    • I John 2:9-11 – “hate” here means to love less
      • Luke 14:26 – Similar usage here.
    • I John 3:10-11, 23; 4:7-8, 12, 20-5:2
  • Humble yourself as a slave
    • I Corinthians 9:19-22
    • John 13:5, 12-17 – Jesus left us an example in how He washed the disciples’ feet.
    • Luke 17:7-10
  • Be unselfish by caring for others more and yourself less.
    • Philippians 2:19
    • Romans 9:3
    • Romans 15:1-3
  • Personal challenges: can you do these within 2 weeks?
    • Read I John 3-4 and reflect on it. Let it convince you: “I need to be loving and serving others.”
    • Get your hands dirty, or get on your knees, or render some menial service to another to remind yourself that you are a slave.
    • Choose one less thing to do for yourself (5-30 minutes), and use that time to serve someone else.
